The day to day management of the
organization is conducted by our president, Mr. Terry Hayden.
Mr. Hayden has been involved in photogrammetry since 1977. He is a member of
the American Society For photogrammetry and Remote Sensing ,
California Land Surveyors Association
Our photogrammetric staff consist of seven full time employees. This staff ranges in direct photogrammetric experience from over thirty years to a minimum of two years. Our production manager is Mr. Dan Dietrich. Mr. Dietrich holds a bachelors degree from California State University , Fresno and has been with the company since its inception. Digital Data editing and CADD work are under the direction of Mr. David Proud. Mr. Proud also holds a bachelors degree from C.S.U.F. Our digital image processing and analysis is directed by Mr. Brad Richmond. Mr. Richmond is an alumnus of Brooks Institute and has extensive training in both photogramemmetric and commercial photographic image processing and manipulation..
Both photogrammetric and LIDAR data are processed in either our BAE Socet Ser or Cardinal Systems VRone software packages.
While no amount of hardware and software can replace highly qualified staff, state of the art facilities can certainly augment well versed, experienced personnel. We have successfully endeavored to combine these two qualities in our firm. To produce our vector mapping to the highest standards of quality and accuracy, we rely on our three, first order, analytical stereoplotters.
For our image based mapping output, we utilize the BAE systems D.P.W. (Digital Photogrammetric Workstation. This system is engineered to provide an accurate, efficient throughput of digital imagery for mapping purposes. With this system in house, we can offer our clients cost-effective services ranging from simple rectified images to full digital orthophoto hard copy sheets and files. We can also provide site analysis output such as Line of site maps and shaded relief maps. This system is fully capable of more esoteric output services ranging from perspective scene "fly throughs" to correcting individual multi-story building rooflines to compensate for image displacement due to location in the photograph.
Output for the vector/Cadd map data can be formatted for use by Autocad, Microstation, or any of a variety of commercial, off the shelf systems. Our digital image data can be formatted as TIFF, JPEG, GIF, or any of the approximately 20 different image formats. We can also provide georeferenced images using either the Arc-Info "world" file format, or any number of georeferencing methods. LIDAR data can be output as either ASCII or the latest LAS format..
Our computer hardware ranges from older PC platforms to the latest Multi Core Pentium based systems. The output of our data can be supplied as hard copy plots from our HP DesignJet Plotters or on a variety of magnetic & optical media (disks, tapes, CDrom,DVD, Etc.).
Our selection of application software for the variety of services that we perform ranges from standard Cadd packages (AutoCAD, Microstation) to full surface modeling/DTM packages. Our staff has been trained in application ranging from mapping to GIS data conversion. We have also had custom software written for unique applications as we have encountered them.
The in house photo lab performs a variety of functions to both support the mapping end of the business as well as serve its own clientele. We keep an extensive library of aerial photography in stock to serve both our professional clients and the general public. Our lab technicians are well versed in the wide variety of products and services that we are called upon to provide. The photographic enlargements are made on one of our two unique restitutional enlargers. These pieces of equipment are designed to allow the aerial negative to be tipped or tilted prior to the exposure of the final enlargement. This procedure is used to correct for the image displacement that results from the aircraft tipping or tilting at the time of exposure. All contacts are produced on an automatic dodging Log-E contact printer. The Rapid Access film and paper processor rounds out the capabilities of our fully equipped lab.
Over the years, both individually and as a firm, we have been involved in nearly every type and phase of photogrammetry being practiced. Aerial Photomapping Services has served clients ranging from private professional firms to local, state and federal agencies ( directly or via our GSA contract ).
